As its name suggests, the Belfast and District Motor Club is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Founded in 1906, the Club is this year celebrating 120 years of dedication to the promotion of motorcycle sport. It is affiliated to the Motorcycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) which is the governing body of motorcycle sport in Northern Ireland.<\/h4>\n

Until 2000 the Club was known for promoting one of the best road races in Ireland, the \u2018Carrowdore 100\u2019. The Club was also previously involved in trials, holding an annual event at the Lead Mines just outside Newtownards, County Down.<\/p>\n

Today, the Club is associated mainly with organizing three Open Short Circuit Belfast & District events each year at the Kirkistown Race Circuit in County Down.<\/p>\n

These three events are exceptionally well supported by both competitors and spectators alike. Started in 2022 the Club created what is called the “Big 3 Series”<\/strong> where each of the three main titles are decided over the season’s three events (6 races with double points awarded in the final race). The individual titles raced for are the\u00a0King of Kirkistown<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the\u00a0Crown Prince of Kirkistown<\/a>\u00a0and the President’s Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Club also promotes its own Championships for Club Members throughout the year with winners receiving their Awards at the Club\u2019s Awards Evening in October.<\/p>\n
